When I first opened Dog Krazy 19 years ago in downtown Fredericksburg, our Caroline Street location already had a bit of local pet history. Before we moved in, the space belonged to a store called Dog Dayz that specialized in dog supplies. Just a few blocks down was The Cats Closet, a shop dedicated entirely to cats.
The two stores had a friendly agreement, Dog Dayz would stick to dog items, and The Cat's Closet would stick to cat items. So when I opened Dog Krazy in the same spot, I honored that long-standing handshake deal and didn’t carry anything for cats.
A few years later, The Cat's Closet decided to close its doors, and that’s when we decided to open ours to our feline friends! We immediately brought in a wide variety of goodies for cats, from nutritious foods and tasty treats to natural chews, interactive toys, and cozy scratching posts. We even offer cat grooming!
Over time, our cat selection has continued to grow, and now we proudly carry everything your cat could possibly need. Whether you’re shopping for picky eaters, adventurous climbers, or professional nappers, Dog Krazy has something purr-fect for every cat.
So while our name will always be Dog Krazy, our hearts (and our shelves) have plenty of room for cats too.
